‘The partisan left’s ritualist wailing and gnashing of teeth over Colbert is quite revealing,” Brendan Carr tweeted Tuesday, adding that critics of the cancellation are ‘acting like they’re losing a loyal DNC spokesperson.’
This quote is from the Bible—“wailing and gnashing of teeth”—it’s a dog whistle for “Christian” fascists that don’t know Jesus but seem to have memorized Revelations.
These people seem to forget several quotes regarding the believers being deceived by an anti-Christ.
If these people ever talk Bible, this entire admin runs counter to Matthew 25:32.
- Criminalizing foreigners
- Making awful prisons
- Taking away aide to those that need it
It’s a fucking joke that ANYONE on the Right speaks of Christ or faith at this time.
Religion has been and will always be a tool to enforce an agenda. The Bible is the reference sheet for any ideology, like magnetic poetry for the socially malignant. Together it enables the savvy to persuade the dim.
Religion has had its time in the sun and it isn’t useful anymore. Only the evil and the dumb still find it useful.
Well said!
You’re welcome to your opinion. I’m a UU, previously an atheist, and I’ve found a lot of value from it. It’s very different than traditional religion.
But CBS and Paramount are still trying to say it was a “financial decision”. I guess they meant, Trump was threatening to cost them a lot of money, unless they cancelled his show.
Probably for legal reasons? Maybe someone will fuck up and sa6 something honest enough to get sued for it?
I wonder if he bailed early and started his own channel somewhere, how quickly CBS would scramble to find someone to take the spot
wheres the people that were defending the cancellations was “low viewership” the other day on lemmy, you can do better if it wasnt obvious it was a retaliation by trump.
I would boycott CBS but I’m not watching them anyway.
Can’t the show be done on some other format? There was a podcast with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver when studios shut down from covid. It was rather enjoyable imo.
Party of purported free speech and anti-cancel culture upset that people are voicing their dislike about left-leaning talkshow being canceled for political reasons.
Yeah, that sounds about right.
Is it just me or does that guy have the most punchable face in America?
Nobody will ever have a more punchable face than Trump’s last FCC chair.
hes a true believer of trump much like krazy eyes patel.
I’d say Stephen Miller gives him a run for his money in terms of punchability.
‘The partisan right’s ritualist wailing and gnashing of teeth over Colbert is quite revealing,” […] celebrators of the cancellation are ‘acting like they’re not coercing private corporations’ decisions to punish general dissent and accurate reporting of their attempt to cover up human trafficking and the rape of minors by the sitting President.’
Oh? Colbert got his show cancelled? Good for him/Sorry that happened.
