I’ve never praised Yugoslavia despite its flaws either, nor have I expressed support for anarchist Catalonia, nor even for the Soviet Union itself against the literal fucking Nazis, nor praised Khrushchev or Gorbachev. I just don’t believe in critical support of leftist efforts. I’ve praised Nasser and Tito and Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro and Thomas Sankara, but I don’t throat every red-painted boot I see, nor do I ignore the very real and serious flaws of those I have praised - so clearly I don’t believe in ‘critical support’.
