In my experience it’s the opposite, just want to relax and every animal in the household sees a lap spot open up
And then good luck moving for the next hour and a half
“At least you love me”, I say to the inanimate stuffed animal I’m hugging, hating myself more than ever
The fact that hugging them is the closest I’ll come to genuine affection is ropefuel
I try and imagine even having that much honestly.
If you’re in a position where you can have a pet, then there are tons that need good homes. If you can’t, then there are likely animal rescues near you that could use some volunteers! A large part of what animals need is socialization, so it’s a good way to get your fix.
