Never felt so helpless.

First world PTSD intensifies

Every time I have to wait for a 10 year old game to “update” I want to murder whoever is responsible.

I definitely see myself understanding the world more, and that obviously will come with experience. However, with that also comes wisdom, and specifically the wisdom to look back and see that some adults were fucking fucktards.

Machine Learning is the general field, and I think if we weren’t wrapped up in the AI hype we could be training models to do important things like diagnosing disease and not writing shitty code or creating fantasy art work.

This. So fucking much this. I’ve seen Jira used to plan waterfall schedules, to track meeting actions, and as a relational database. And all of them claiming to be “agile”.

When used for the right thing in the right way, Jira is a great tool. It is people who make it shitty, and specifically the type of PM who doesn’t understand the complexities, people or technical, of their work.
