But “made up” doesn’t imply unbelievable, just not real in the specific instance. While based on very believable interaction, it’s pretty likely this specific interaction is indeed made up

Duolingo wants you to meme their stupid bird.
Please stop doing free work for corporations.
Fuck Duolingo specifically, as well.
Vespair@lemmy.ziptoLGBTQ+@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Pete Buttigieg Says Trans Athletes in Women’s Sports Raise “Serious Fairness Issues”English1·19 hours agoI just don’t understand why the fuck sports are held in such high regard that we have to have politicians commenting on them anyway. Like imagine if a bunch of politicians suddenly took a stance on Magic: The Gathering tournament eligibility, or who is or isn’t allowed to be in a book club.
For the life of me I will just never understand why we treat sports like they’re some sacred pillar of society. It’s grownups playing a game. None of this shit matters.
Vespair@lemmy.zipto RPGMemes @ttrpg.network•The sheer number of options is the best thing about Pathfinder. It's also the worst.English2·3 days agoSounds like they’re actually similar to archetypes and I’m just dumb, tbh, but basically in 3.0+ D&D there were classes you could multiple class into without multiple penalty if your character met specific qualifications (different for each prestige class, usually ability score minimum and knowledge of a feat, spell, or spell level, but sometimes specific race or language or whatever). These classes were usually much more specialized and specific than the general core classes, but also gave your character great powers and flair in that specific niche. Or at least that’s the idea when they were well-implemented, which was not always the case, and prestige bloat is often cited as one of the worst parts of 3.0+ as nearly every single sourcebook would include at least a couple new ones (but I never saw this a problem, personally).
Vespair@lemmy.zipto RPGMemes @ttrpg.network•The sheer number of options is the best thing about Pathfinder. Yes, later prestige were one way power creep and bloat happened, but they aren’t inherent to the state.
That being said, I must admit I’ve only dabbled in PF1 very briefly, so I guess I need to ask for clarity - are archetypes different than subclasses? It was my understand (again, from very far outside) that that was just what PF2 was calling subclasses, and if so, that’s a very different thing than a prestige class in my mind. A part of the appeal of prestige classes to me is worldbuilding groups built of a prestige classes made up of many different classes; I love that Arcane Trickster might have wizard levels, or sorcerer levels, or bard levels, etc… So maybe I’m just out of the loop here - are archetypes class specific or they actually the PF2 class-agnostic viable replacement for prestige and I really should give PF2 a look?

Very valid points. And frankly if I’m being honest with myself, I think I know this is ultimately a losing battle, as this is a field where perception is king, and I guess I’m really just venting my frustration with the situation. I think we’re mostly all frustrated with it honestly, but it’s a bell we can’t really un-ring, so here we are. Cheers.
Yeah I’m not defending AI output here, it absolutely follows awful and easily recognizable tropes. I’m just trying to fight against the current “em dash = AI” bullshit because, again, real people use real grammar. And people have been using non-LLM spelling & grammar checks which push syntax like em dashes forever; are we to assume that people suddenly stopped using these non-“smart” tools?
Rally against AI slop all you want, I support you, it’s just the promotion of the dumbed down reductive takes like em dashes or semicolons are indicative of AI.
Real people use em dashes — the models were trained on real human output after all — so this new crusade against em dashes as the Mark of Beast for AI has always been and continues to be silly.
I mean as a guy I think the dude looks easily 100x better in the “before” pic. I don’t know who this dude is at all, but that before pic is already a perfectly comfortable, healthy-looking body. Before looks approachable and friendly, while still healthy. After looks high-effort and very motivated; that’s a lot for some people. A lot of people want somebody they can relax on the couch with popcorn with, not somebody who is gonna wake up every 6am to go running.
Truth. I feel silly having brand loyalty to a flour brand, but I do. I think King Arthur puts out fresher, better flour, and I think their recipes and website are super solid. Legitimately a fan of a flour brand, lol.
Yeah they’ve given up on the “under $5” thing entirely
Not if you tell the officer that you’re a cop too and you were screaming “Wee-ooo-wee-ooo” so you’re allowed to speed too, then they have to let you go.
Yep, exactly what confirmed it for me
Imo it looks like the back wall of a Spencer’s-type novelty shop rather than a sex shop
