‘Maddening’ seems like a good fit. And the joker (using the latest movie as base) also fits well the open eyes in a dark world. How else to cope if not with dark humor. I see it the same way and my humor has always been very dark. And with each decade i become more “incompatible” with social groups and need to restrain my cynicism and misanthropy. But how could one not become that when running around with open eyes, unclouded and unaffected by propaganda?

Fuck, I’m sorry to hear that dude. I always cuss at our local injustices here towards handicapped and whatever else, but then I hear/read something from you guys and it all seems relatively grear again. Like our saying “complaining on a high Niveau”. We are far from perfect (and even drift in the wrong direction), but, in principle, we have a social/medical net. Homeless people, in theory, get their welfare, everyone does who can’t work. We were even close to the much better solution “universal income”.

Homelessness being illegal is one of the most dystopian things there could be. But probably helps greatly in getting cheap labour punishing bad people for their crimes.

Crossing fingers your realism pessimism won’t be fulfilled and trump suddenly dies of penile rotting cancer and untreatable adult testicular torsion. But I could totally imagine camps. You could even name them bad-people-killing-facility and Murica, nay the whole world wouldn’t even flinch. While I admire your view, and your points are all valid and better than mine after re-evaluating them, I couldn’t embrace the same optimism.

Wherever I look I just see a downward trend. People aren’t getting more stupid or more lazy. They got less and less time to worry about anything else than surviving. Especially in horrible places like the US or some other third world countries. With two jobs and three kids there’s no capacity to act upon wrongs in the gaming-industry. And those who are well off don’t care because they just throw enough money at it.

And those few, like me, who don’t need to worry about the former while not giving in to the latter are probably a minority.

True and me too. But it’s always easy to judge from a safe vantage point. And to judge things that don’t concern or affect me.

I don’t say you’re wrong. You’re not. But your way just won’t work because noone cares, especially not those who profit from this. So that still leaves me with nothing beside dedicating my life to politics or just pirate the shit I can and not consume what I can’t pirate. Both are effectively meaningless, yes.

Of course it’s that simple. It always was. Purely technically speaking. Reduce calories in whatever way and probably even exercise to some degree. No magic needed.

It’s just not that easy for everybody equally. Some just can’t regulate themselves well, some take drugs that fuck your weight up even if you’d just eat a slice of bread daily, some can’t exercise at all, some are too poor to buy non-shitty foods (especially in horrible food-anarchy-countries like the US where sugar is legion), and some simply don’t know better or don’t understand.
