I started using a VPN after my friends/classmates told me about them in my Sophomore year of HS, mostly to get around the Wifi banning us from accessing certain apps (social media). Now, like all the other dumb kids, I used whatever they recommended, which was some shitty “Free” VPN that was probably stalking my data. But by Senior year, I smartened up and learned about online privacy and got myself a Proton VPN subscription after using the free version for a bit.

So yeah, I could totally believe middle-school and up are using VPNs, cause that’s what we literally did.

I’m American, but like I said, I’ve never had to ride a bus (besides HS school buses). My sister used to ride a bus to community college, only cause she was too afraid of driving originally.

Well, inconclusive is going to mean that unfortunately, that guy is probably getting away scott-free, as most courts are not going to want to just take testimony as their sole piece of evidence. If we can’t prove neither is telling the truth, they can’t convict a person.

You can support SA accusers by hearing their side, having an open mind, and understanding that what they said COULD BE and is VERY LIKELY to be true, especially if several people are complaining. BUT, we still can’t just jump without looking, and so a court trial must occur. You’re supposed to do your absolute best to support them so they can reveal their truth in court and get all the evidence they need to bring that person down. That’s all we can do to get justice.

Starting this by saying: Using tracking apps to see what someone’s doing 24/7 or worrying about them cheating is insane and is a solid NO, full stop.

But I do understand why people use tracking apps, and I wish we had good FOSS alternatives. A tracking/location sharing app where the trackee can turn it on/off anytime they want (after using a password/biometrics, to prevent others from messing with it), so loved ones can be sure you made it to your destination.

I don’t want people stalking their kids, judging their friends for the places they go, surveiling if someone’s a cheater, or worst of all, having their data be sold by the shitty companies that run these services.

I’ve read stories that have scared me and made me wish I could do something like that when I’m out late. I had to (unfortunately) use Live360 during a field trip in another country cause the teachers needed to keep track of us. I understand safety-wise that these apps are vital

Um… I’m a girl, and I totally believe these women were assaulted because we’re talking about rich assholes who literally feel like they can do anything.

But you have to present evidence no matter what. That’s literally how the court works. If all we have is he-said-she-said, then there’s not much we can do to reach a verdict. There have been regular people who have been incorrectly deemed assaulters/rapists due to lack of evidence. We have seen women who lie about this. You NEED to have proof, to ensure that it’s an undeniable fact that the accused is officially recognized as a shit person.

This is an unrealistic ideal, I’m gonna be real. I want these women to win and be acknowledged. I want all who interacted with Epstein to rot in prison and hell. But we need evidence. That’s just the truth.

Ugh, we pirate almost everything and I use ReVanced on my phone. But my mom (the one who STARTED the pirating on the Firestick) likes to watch YT as her TV (understandable), but won’t let me download SmartTube and have her login to it because she’s afraid of smth I guess (like getting her account banned for being detected using it). I’ve been using ReVanced YT music on my OG account for like a solid year now, and (including the OG account) two accounts on regular YT. Never got any sort of ban or suspension.

I tell her “well then use SmartTube logged out,” but she responds, “But I want to have my suggestions/recommendations,” which is kind of understandable, sometimes I want recs too. But having to watch 2-3 ads per 10 min section of a hour long video? Nope, absolutely not. I keep saying to her, “I can’t believe you choose to live like this,” and she just brushes me off.

I thankfully haven’t encountered the translated titles thing in a long time (I think I remember noticing YT music would translate the titles of JP songs I was listening to like, 5-6 years ago???), but the AI audio dubs fucking KILL me. Especially since I use ReVanced on my phone, which means that I have to have stream spoofing on for videos to even play, but that also means I can’t force the original audio, so I quite literally can’t watch some videos in their original language on my phone unless I pull it up on Invidious.

Newpipe and Pipepipe seemed to have a stroke on my devices when I tried to use them (FreeTube is good about 80% of the days, but I really only use it on my laptop), so praying the browser Invidious is working is literally my only option in that case.

I am TRYING to learn a language Google, so please don’t force a shitty AI dub on a video that quite literally says “Japanese Listening Practice” 🤬
