i wonder how the us will attempt a regime change if the taiwanese gov’t gets too close for comfort w china.
Actually, KMT was about to make a deal with the mainland where they’d get to remain autonomous, and keep their own military forces, but they’d renounce separatism and acknowledge being a province of China. In response, the US funded the Sunflower student movement that brought DPP into power. However, now most people in Taiwan are starting to realize what’s happening and DPP has become deeply unpopular, so not sure what the next play is going to be here.
